Do We Know Him As Lord?

Acts 2:33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. 34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, 35 Until I make thy foes thy footstool. 36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

The keyword here is "therefore" in verse 36. We learn that because Jesus is exalted by the right hand of God and since we have received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, then that is the proof that Jesus is exalted and at the right hand of God. So I now challenge people that have not received by faith the promise of the Holy Ghost.

Because Jesus died on the cross we believe that we are forgiven of sins. Because Jesus rose from the grave we believe that we have new life, and because Jesus is exalted and ascended to the right hand of God we have received the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost! Once we recognize and receive by faith the promise of the Holy Ghost, then we will receive Christ as Lord too. Too many times we delay having fruit in our lives because we get frustrated with not having an immediate outward working manifestation of things in our lives. Perhaps the outward manifestation comes after we receive by faith knowledge of truth about what has happened in our lives.

1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

That is lordship. It is when we come to that knowledge of truth that we will come to a place of total surrender to Christ. We must first come as a servant before He will truly be Lord to us! Is He Lord of all in your life? Has all that you have and all that you are become all that He is? Is He lord over your thoughts? Over your dreams? Over your career? Over your family? Over your bank accounts? Over your fashion? Over your education? Over your ambition? Is He Lord? Do you know Him as Lord? May the Holy Spirit speak to us by way of illustration how we have trespassed and ignored the Lordship of Christ.

Acts 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

To Know Him,
