Cheap Grace Vs. Costly Grace

There is a cheap grace gospel floating around today. Cheap grace means the justification of sin without the justification of the sinner. Grace alone does everything they say, and so everything can remain as it was before. Cheap grace is not the kind of forgiveness of sin which frees us from the works of sin. Cheap grace is the grace we bestow on ourselves. Cheap grace is the preaching of forgiveness without requiring repentance. Its grace without discipleship, grace without the cross, grace without the fellowship of Jesus Christ dwelling and living on the inside of us captivating our every thought and being. Costly grace as quoted by Dietrich Bonhoeffer is the treasure hidden in the field; for the sake of it a man will gladly go and sell all that he has. It is the kingly rule of Christ, for whose sake a man will pluck out the eye which causes him to stumble; it is the call of Jesus Christ at which the disciple leaves his nets and follows him. Costly grace is the gospel which must be sought again and again and again and again.. It's the gift which must be asked for, the door at which a man must knock. Such grace is costly because it calls us to follow Jesus Christ. It is costly because it costs a man his life, and it is grace because it gives a man the only true life... We could go on and on with this I just wanted talk of this because too many people that call themselves christians are utterly powerless. They are deceived with doctrinal error. That is the problem today bigger than any other thing is the error in doctrine. Time and time again Jesus would encounter someone such as the young rich man or the lawyer who would discredit themselves by the very questions they would ask him. The fact is Jesus Christ demands us to follow him and be a disciple and to make disciples. Every christian has this mandate. What is the end result? Man bought with a price expected to die to his carnal nature and old ways and to the old system of operations and enter into another mode of law which ultimately leads to abundant life freeing us from the first Adam nature and manifesting the last Adam nature bringing all glory back to God by way of the completion of the work that Jesus performed. Let us find His narrow way and enter through the narrow gate. Seek him and you will find him.. Knock and the door will be opened.

Lord thank you for calling us out of our sin nature. I will follow you by the costly grace that is obtained by way of believing (obedience).

Im reading a book called "The Cost of Discipleship" by Dietrick Bonhoeffer. I'm 2 chapter in to it and it is cutting truth. I encourage everyone so far to go out and get it. It is a timeless piece.
