Who Shall Abide?

This morning devotion in the Word of God!

Psalms 15:1 LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.
3 He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.
4 In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.
5 He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

The first question I see hear is, who shall ABIDE in your tabernacle Lord, who will live in your holy place?

It is he that walks upright, worketh righteousness, and speaks truth. It is just that simple.

We should have a walk that leaves a trail of a good path. Where are you walking? How are you walking? The word of God tells us that the steps of a righteous man are ordered by the Lord. He orders our steps. It also says that as many as are led by the Spirit are the very sons of God. Again it says that we are to walk by FAITH and not by sight. This is how you are to walk upright is by being led by the Spirit. If we don't yield our way to the Spirit then we can never walk with HIM.

Who then is he that worketh righteousness and what does this mean?

James 1:19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

What does His word say here in James? It says be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow wrath or anger. It says the wrath (anger) of man worketh not the righteousness of God. It goes on to say here that we should lay aside filthiness and receive the Word of God. If you don't lay some things aside then you will not receive the Word. After we receive the Word of God we should then be doers of the Word. It goes on to instruct us that he that does not do the Word of God after hearing it is like a man who looks in a mirror and then forgets who he is. This is how we worketh righteousness is we are not hearers only but doers of His Word. Don't be forgetful today. Remember His Word of Truth. Constantly see yourself in the mirror of His Word.

Now we come to the last point that I want to share is to speak or to proclaim the truth of His Word that is in your heart. Yes sir we must proclaim the truth. It's not enough to posses the truth but we must cast it out as obedient voices of discretion. We must proclaim. The Word tells us lastly that it's from the abundance of the heart that the mouth will SPEAK. What is overflowing in your heart? That is what is coming out of your mouth. Let this be your gauge.

We must as well in total life Fear God. Fearing God will keep you in His way. Those that fear Him he honors.

There is so much more to get into here in His word. One just needs to take time and meditate on it.

May you be so blessed as to know Him more today.

To Know Him,
Josh Helm
