Do you consider yourself to be a disciple of Christ? "Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? -- unless indeed you are disqualified" (2 Corinthians 13:5).
In this day and time it has become more and more distorted as to who is really on the Lord's side. With an estimated 85% of people in America professing to be Christian it makes you realize there is something seriously wrong with that statistic. Where is the fruit? It seems as if we have made wide the door for people to claim the title Christian but we don't challenge people to count the cost of discipleship. Over the last year in my life I have had to do a whole lot of soul searching and examining myself such as 2 Corinthians 13:5 suggests. I was not pleased with what the Spirit of the Lord revealed to me as only the Holy Spirit can do according to John 16:8 But at the same time there is a joy when Jesus lifts the yoke and breaks the chains off of your life. We need to count the cost of discipleship so that we don't profane the precious name of Jesus.
